Football Loves Me - Buhari

Following a Glo/CAF Platinum Award for Good Leadership conferred on him last week in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari believes football loves him.
Naij.com recalls that Solomon Dalung, the minister of Youth and Sports Development received the award on behalf of President Buhari who was recognized following his support for football.

Buhari says football loves him
In an official presentation of the award to President Buhari, Dalung said: “Under your administration, we won the Under 17 World Cup and we also won the Under 23 African Cup of Nations.
“We have had very good fortune in football since you came to office and the sports family is very happy.”
However, in a swift response, Buhari recalled that Nigeria first won the Under-17 World Cup in 1985 in China, when he was military head of state, Vanguard reports.
He said: “Thirty years after the first victory, Nigeria won again last year. What a fabulous coincidence. I think football loves me.”
He thanked the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for honouring him with the award.
Meanwhile, President Muhamadu Buhari will on Thursday January 21, host and reward the victorious Golden Eaglets at the state House.
The Emmanuel Emenike led boys won the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup held in Chile.
After  returning from Chile, the Golden Eaglets were hosted to a dinner by Solomon Dalong at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel.
They were afterwards alleged to have been given 20,000 each before they left Abuja.
